Color Forecast 2026

2026 will be a year for color confidence in our homes with colors
that are bold yet soothing. Color is so important and plays a
critical role in determining the atmosphere of a space.

Expect to see color everywhere this year; colors like a tranquil
Teal which makes a statement but remains subtle.
Mellow Reds, earthy shades of red which are rich and
sophisticated will be front and center in many homes.
Nature-inspired Yellows from vibrant, sunshine shades to
grounded ochres to pale buttercreams will be especially popular
for kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.
Earthy Greens will be replacing sage green tones. Green is
always tranquil, natural and calming and provides a connection to
the outdoors.

As always, Neutrals are here to stay. Watch for warmer, richer
shades than in the past few years. A step away from the
“millennial gray” is the newer, more fresh, red based Taupes. This
color will provide a warm color scheme that is both classic and
contemporary. Whites will be more “cloudy” this year, adding
balance and lightness to darker hues and keeping rooms from
feeling cavernous or cold. If you prefer a dark neutral look for a
warm black, rich and earthy with shades of charcoal which will
add elegance to any room.
