The All Important Foyer

The foyer is the first impression that a guest receives of your home so it naturally deserves your best effort!  It should feel inviting and also set the tone for the rest of your home. But, there’s more to consider than just the aesthetic or the appearance of the space, and this is where a good designer comes in.  She or he will consider the light and traffic flow and the size of your foyer before making important design decisions.  A designer may incorporate additional storage opportunities for this area by using furniture that serves a multipurpose……..adding not only beauty but functionality.

A foyer should never be crowded or “over furnished”, this is where a statement piece of furniture, a dramatic wallpaper or a beautiful light fixture will make a huge impact.  Our designers will often use an oversized light fixture as it will add a dramatic feel to the space. A mirror can visually double the space with its reflection and maximize the light, BUT, the secret here is choosing the right mirror and the right light fixture (again….where the talented designer comes in)!
